Domaine Divio Passetoutgrain

The History

At Domaine Divio, Bruno Corneaux applies his traditional Burgundian crafting skills to Pinot Noir and Chardonnay. Achieved through minimal intervention and sustainability in respect of the land, the wines emphasize the elegance and complexity of our Willamette Valley grapes.

The Grape

75% Pinot Noir, 25% Gamay

Tasting Note

An ancestral Burgundian blend – Our Passetoutgrain is a blend of 1/3 Gamay and 2/3 Pinot Noir. Winegrowers were traditionally allowed to create a blend of the two grapes when blocks were planted with a mix of the two cultivars. When harvesting they would “pick them all” or “passetoutgrain”. An ethereal wine that leads with delicate red fruit. The nose offers bright and vibrant red fruit notes with a touch of spice from the Gamay Noir and a touch of rose petal, forest floor and black cherries from the Pinot Noir. Nicely textured, it develops roundness and amplitude emboldened by spice and hints of licorice.
