Trou de L’Ermit

The History

Family estate owned by Pierre Gabison since 2005. The vineyards cover 135 hectares (330 acres) and are strategically surrounded and protected by 500 unbroken hectares of garrigue constituting a rich ecosystem and a unique environment. Caraguilhes has been committed to full organic farming since 1987.

 

The Grape

 50% Carignan, 20% Grenache, 30% Syrah

 

Tasting Note

Dense nose, menthol, black fruit full of freshness. Deep notes of blackberries and raspberries. With aeration, the wine reveals another range of aromas specific to our garrigue: rosemary, thyme.

Mouth Round and suave attack, underlined by aromas of dark berries and notes of black tapenade. The freshness in the mid-palate brings a real personality to the wine. The 2022 vintage reveals a real dynamism, fresh and rich in fruit.

Winemaking

 Limestone, pebbles rolled on red clay typical of Boutenac . Biodynamic culture – Ecocert, Biodyvin and Demeter
certifications. Aged 6 months in wood (barrels of 2 and 3 wines) for 50% of the volume
