Madrona Cabernet Franc
The History
The Madrona wine all started by a pioneer who found an
exceptional landscape that is divestible to the hillside vine
yard, which was located in El Dorado, California in 1973. It
was originally founded by the Senior Bush who wanted to
create this unique wine that has great acidity with perfect
balance to create this comfort when drinking the wine. This
authentic wine was discovered from a 350 year old Madrona tree, which represented the location to grow the best terroir of the Madrona vineyards. These Madrona trees are
found in the greatest growing regions through El Dorado,
Sierra Foothills AVAs.
The Grape
92% Cabernet Franc, 4% Cabernet
Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 1% Malbec
Tasting Note
The aromas are like a spice cabinet out in a dense forest. An
intriguing umami essence of savory spice, soy sauce and forest floor earthiness fill the glass while sweet spice (cinnamon)
lingers behind. The first sip of the wine, though, shows how
truly complex and interesting Cabernet Franc is. Rich and
rounded, the entry has this elegant violet and lavender ex
pression (from the older vines) marrying with the black cherry of the newer clones.
